AN EFFECTIVE ALGORITHM FOR DETECTING ATTACKS IN WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORK (WSN)

A Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) consists of sensor nodes which are deployed over a certain area for several applications. It is vulnerable to different types of attacks. Selective Forwarding and Black Hole attacks are two famous attacks in Wireless sensor network. In this thesis, we propose an algorithm to detect both Selective Forwarding attack and Black Hole attack. Our results show that there is an improvement in end-to-end delay and Packet Dropped, comparing to the study  " Detect and Prevent Blackhole Attack in wireless sensor networks Algorithm". An improvement is also noticed in the load on the network by electing a new Cluster Head on the same Cluster. The thesis concludes that the proposed algorithm detects and decreases the effect of the Blackhole and Selective Forwarding attackers.
