Abstract

A panel of experts wrote a book on the use of modern means of criminal investigation from the perspectives of Sharia and modern law. The content of the book which was published in 2007 incorporate around seven pertinent areas: - Scientific and technical methods: Their role in forensic proof - Stance of Islamic Sharia and secular laws on use of genetic print in forensic proof. - Role of visual and voice prints in criminal proof from the point of view of Sharia and secular laws. - Stance of Islamic Sharia on use of psydelic substances in criminal investigation. - Use of hypnotism in the area of criminal investigation between legality and application. - To what extent is it legal to use lie detector in criminal investigation and proof to suspected accusations? - Stance of Islamic Sharia on the adoption of scientific means in torture of the accused. Finally the book ended with some fruitful recommendations.
