Human Relations in Islamic and Modern Administrative Thought

Abstract

The present book seeks to introduce human relations in Islamic and modern administrative thought based upon solid foundations of human relations. It focuses on the theories propounded by the pioneers of human relations school and the major differences between the human relations school and classical schools. The book, in substance, affirms that Islam has organized human relations on sound lines and that Islam also exhorts mutual respect and appreciation and renunciation of disdain, contempt, jealousy and enmity. In its conclusive passages, the book incorporates some salient recommendations which include the following: 1. Increasing attention should be assigned to the principles and bases of human relations in Islamic administrative thought. - Attention should be given to the application of the pattern pursued by the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم). His model should be followed in the management of educational and administrative institutions. - Cooperation should be developed between chiefs and subordinates in the broad spectrum of human relations skills. - Steady development should be made in the realm of human relations. Such strides should be initiated by officials and experts with attested and known experience, competence and standard qualifications.
