This book presents a very comprehensive overview of security concepts in the modern world. In addition to this, the book defines and explains the terminologies used in the Arab world which are related to these concepts. The main aim of the book is to present an invaluable reference defining security concepts and terminologies that are used by academics and security experts. This will aid academics in writing researches in security studies as well as those people concerned with security media and members of the various Arab security sectors. The first chapter talks generally about the concept of security and presents different concepts of security. Some of these concepts include human security, ideological security, homeland security, social security, security awareness, linguistic security and many more. Thereafter, the proceeding chapters present detailed overviews of the concepts of tourism security, security media, police, crime, society, terrorism, security management and training, post disaster security and security education. This book has been written and compiled under the Department of Public Relations and Media at Naif Arab University for Security Sciences which strives to provide the general public with an accurate and sound awareness of security concepts. This book will therefore serve as an effective tool in educating the public and other influential members of society who are not part of the security sectors.
